Application writing - Various meetings during 2004-2006.
The first idea for this project started at a conference entitled: "The interaction between forest cover and life in streams and rivers" that was held at Laugar in Sælingsdalur, W-Iceland, on January 15-16, 2004. A number of scientists met after the conference to make a preliminary core group for such an application. The first group was: Gudmundur Halldorsson and Bjarni D. Sigurdsson (then both at Icel. For. Res.), Sigurdur Reynir Gislason and Gisli Mar Gislason (Univ. of Iceland), Freysteinn Sigurdsson (then at National Energy Authority of Iceland), Sigurdur Gudjonsson (Inst. of Fresh Water Fisheries), Eva Ritter (Agric. Univ. Iceland). The core group met on various meetings during 2004-2006 and made several preliminary funding proposals. New participants were included in the group. This work resulted in an application to Umhverfis og orkurannsóknasjóðs Orkuveitu Reykjavíku (UOOR) in December 2006.
